Gardens at Castle Hill Devon"I Have just returned from a 5 day Garden Tour of North Devon.
My group had a most enjoyable morning at Castle Hill. The Gardens were just at their best with the Rhododendrons. Magnolias and Camellias.
We found the house from the road most impressive, we knew we would be in for a good treat. Morning tea and biscuits were most welcome on arrival, as was the fine spread at lunchtime on our departure.
Thank you to Michelle for the introductory talk and the waitress for great service.
It was very enjoyable meeting Lord and Lady Arran, and of course 'Hoover'.
I will certainly be recommending Castle Hill to all my friends".

"After a glorious afternoon spent ambling around your gardens yesterday, I thought I must thank you for opening them up and making them available.  We love to visit during the different seasons and yesterday was simply perfect.  As season ticket holders living nearby we feel incredibly privileged and we are so enjoying watching the gardens develop over the years.
Thank you so much""
Melanie, Charles and Christopher Cullen

"Dear Lady Arran

"Just a brief note of congratulations and thanks for a wonderful day at Castle Hill today!
My two daughters (aged 20 months and 4 years) and I enjoyed every minute and the banks of the stream were the perfect setting for a picnic and some performance readings. It all seemed very well organised and executed." Mrs. AK.

"Thank you very much for all your organisation to ensure our visit was smooth running.  It was a very happy occasion - everyone enjoyed every moment of our walk and the very delicious supper, so beautifully presented.  With thanks and warm wishes." Brayford WI visit to Castle Hill

"Just a short note to say how much we all enjoyed our day at Castle Hill yesterday. The group all enjoyed the house and garden tours (in spite of the damp weather) and the lunch was delicious - a perfect day out! In fact one of our group said on leaving 'I think this is the nicest day out I've ever had' - praise indeed." Perennial - Gardeners' Royal Benevolent Society

"Very attractive, very pretty grounds, lovely walks. We were disappointed not to be able to cross the stones, because we were in our third childhood. The castle was fascinating and we were very impressed with it and the cannons." The 3 M's, Exeter.

"We had a wonderful evening, the weather was kind and Castle Hill looked spectacular in the evening sun. The gardens were much enjoyed by us all and every one was keen to return in the spring, to see the Azaleas and Rhododendrons." A local Gardening Club.

"It struck me that this was an Estate as it should be, in an England which seems to be under threat. Looking out over the terraces across the valley it seemed so beautifully managed that I felt my spirits rise and my heart gladden." A visitor with Brend Tours.

"Devon at its best! Very well kept and a delight to wander around. Any season of the year would be an enjoyable experience and visit for all keen gardeners. Thank you for sharing the beauty of the Parklands with us." B & M
